The Adam Thayer Scholarship

We are pleased to announce the third annual Adam R. Thayer Scholarship in honor of our beloved colleague, Adam Thayer. Adam was the Director of Information Technology at Goodwill Industries of North Florida, when he unexpectedly passed away in February 2020. He was passionate about Goodwill’s mission to help remove barriers to employment. He was also a strong proponent of education, community service and helping others to succeed. Adam R. Thayer Scholarship Fund awards a $5,000 scholarship to a college-bound high school senior, or active Goodwill employee based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, and community service record. 

Purpose:

The Adam R. Thayer Scholarship Fund awards a scholarship to an active Goodwill employee or college-bound high school senior based on demonstrated academic achievement, community service and financial need.

Criteria:

The student eligible for assistance must be a current Goodwill employee or a graduating high school senior who intends to attend an accredited college/ university. Consideration will be given to academic achievement, financial need, and the student’s community service record. The scholarship is open to all majors. Applicants should submit a scholarship application via the Goodwill website by the deadline.

Guidelines:

The scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in equal payments in August and January. Students must continue to attend classes and maintain no lower than a 2.5 grade-point average (or equivalent). 

Amount:

The scholarship recipient will be awarded a 1X total of $5,000.

Renewal:

This scholarship is not renewable. Previous scholarship recipients cannot re-apply.
