JACKSONVILLE, FL (August 6, 2020) The Honorable Randy White, District 12 Councilman for the City of Jacksonville, officially welcomed Goodwill Industries of North Florida’s newest store and drive-thru donation center to Oakleaf Station with a ribbon cutting this morning.  Located at 8460 Merchants Way, this beautiful free standing 16,000-square-foot building was developed and built by Sleiman Enterprises

“We are excited to have Goodwill join District 12 and to be a part of the positive impact it brings to the local economy. Goodwill helps others by creating jobs, serving others and enhancing the quality of life and these are the types of businesses we want to attract to our community. I am honored to be part of this event today,” said White.

The store had a soft opening on January 30th with plans for a grand opening and ribbon cutting in early spring.  Then the COVID-19 pandemic forced Goodwill to close all of its locations throughout North Florida.

The new store features a large and bright sales floor, spacious back-room for processing donations, plenty of parking for shoppers and a convenient drive-thru for donors to drop off their gently used items, without having to leave their cars.

“We are so excited and proud to finally celebrate this new store. The Oakleaf community has been strong supporters of Goodwill for over ten years. We quickly out-grew our first store just around the corner on Argyle Forest Blvd. and have been working behind the scene for several years to relocate nearby when the time was right.” said Goodwill President and CEO David Rey. “During the time we were closed, so many residents put their spring cleaning in over drive! Currently there is so much fresh product in this store and all of our stores through-out North Florida. That’s so important because our retail stores are the economic engine which supports our mission, to train, educate and employ individuals with barriers to employment.”

The new store employs a team of 25.

Store hours are Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, please visit
